Cooper York is proud to support i2i Football Academy and all they do in for the football community in York. The Academy gives young players across Yorkshire access to first-class football training, which is usually only available at professional clubs.
Players train between 1 and 10 hours a week and compete in regular development friendlies. Many of these friendlies are against youth teams from local professional clubs such as Leeds United and York.

Ronaldo Vieira Ronaldo Vieira signed a two-year professional contract with Leeds United just over a year ago. i2i Football Academy said: ‘We are absolutely delighted for Ronaldo who has a huge future ahead of him.”
Ronaldo, in his interview with LUFC thanked i2i for their efforts in developing him as a footballer over the past two years.
Ronaldo has since gone on to feature regularly for Leeds’ first-team.
Romario Vieira Vieira signed a one-year professional contract at Leeds United a month ago. The defensive midfielder who is the twin brother of current Leeds United first-team midfielder Ronaldo Vieira signed a one-year deal with an option for a further year.
Head of the i2i Football Academy Mike Morton and Head of Coaching at the i2i Football Academy Simon Collins have coached and developed Romario for the past three years and are absolutely thrilled for Romario who has a huge future in the game.
Mike and Simon commented: “We are immensely proud of Romario. His dedication to making it as a professional was remarkable. He never missed a training session, always listened to the advice given to him. It’s been tough for him because his twin brother Ronaldo got a professional contract a year ago but his attitude and drive has seen him get this fantastic opportunity at Leeds United.”
Alfie Beestin Alfie Beestin signed a pro contract with Doncaster Rovers two months ago.
Beestin signed a one-year deal with League 2 side Doncaster Rovers after impressing them whilst he was on trial with them for a few weeks.
He was at Huddersfield Town as a youngster and has more recently been on trial with the likes of Sheffield United and Leeds United . Beestin shone week in, week out for the i2i Academy & York College scoring many an outstanding goal, including one impressive volley in the National Final at Birmingham City’s St. Andrews Stadium.
i2i Chief Executive Officer Matt Gore said “We are all thrilled for Alfie and are confident that this is just the start for him in what is certain to be an exciting career in the game. A large part of Alfie’s success is down to i2i coaches Michael Morton and Simon Collins who have been nothing short of outstanding, having coached and worked with Alfie for several years along with Rich Taylor; we’d like to express our thanks to them.”
Harrison Holgate Harrison Holgate is another i2i star signed for a professional club. The versatile midfielder signed a two-year scholar with Fleetwood Town.
